Exciting News!

Mrs. Altringer is moving to Second Grade! I am so excited to graduate to second grade with all of you. It is going to be another fabulous year! No matter where we are doing our learning, we will be together! I'm looking forward to seeing all of my smart and silly second graders this fall!

Geometry Time

This week we've been working hard on finding attributes of shapes, polygons, and decomposing shapes. Geometry is so fun!

Word Builders

Our class has been hard at work reading and writing words. 

We know to look for the word's beginning, middle, and ending sounds. Today, we had fun building real and nonsense words out of word parts that we know!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is lots of fun in first grade! We celebrated by having a game party, a photo booth, and exchanging valentines. Such a wonderful day full of friendship and fun!

Diving into the World of Nonfiction!

Nonfiction text is so engaging! 

We have loved entering the world of learning about everything from animals, 

to weather, jobs, habitats, and much more! Yay for nonfiction!

Reading Buddies!

This year we are partnering with a fifth grade class to be Reading Buddies. Once a month we get together and read to each other. We also have completed some poetry and written about what we are thankful for. It is so fun to watch their relationships grow.
