The Caterpillars are Here!

We have welcomed Painted Ladies and Monarch caterpillars into our classroom.

We will observe and record how they grow and change as part of our science unit on life cycles.

So far we have learned that they start out very tiny, the size of the head of a pin and eat a LOT!

Ask your child about the little critters daily to learn more!

What a great first week!

 

We spent lots of time learning about Respect, Responsibility, and Safety - the three pillars of expectations here at Sunnyside. We also talked a lot about kindness and how to be a good friend. We graphed our class, the ways we get to school, and our birthdays. Sharing our Me Bags helped us learn more about each other and our new teacher! Having a desk is a very fun opportunity to practice organization and we're starting to get things in place!

Week two is sure to bring lots more activities and learning!
