Everybody knows that a symbol of fall is pumpkins! This week we used pumpkins to answer two different STEAM related questions. First, we used our newfound knowledge of adjectives to answer the question, "What adjectives describe a pumpkin?" Of course, we had to open them up to find out! Next, we separated all the seeds from the pulp inside and answered the question, "How many seeds are in a pumpkin?" It was tricky, but we used our counting strategy of making groups of ten to find out. Our pumpkins had 303, 456, and a whopping 606 seeds in them! We learned that the darker the pumpkin and the more lines it has on the outside, the more seeds there are inside. Who knew?!
